30 juin 2010 · If I am asking you to search a paper in the corner of a room and I want you to move (physically) closer to the place and search, I may use, look closer. But, if I am asking you to find a word written on a paper, I would say, look more closely. I here donot mean you should bring the paper closer to you eyes. But you should look more carefully.

Clouded is closer to the past participle used as a passive. It describes what has happened to something to make it the way it is. Eg His judgement is clouded (by his love for Justin Bieber). If the sky is clouded by clouds - it is not natural to say that, as it goes without saying - it is just cloudy

Both sentences are grammatical and well worded, but "The movie left a lasting impression on me" is closer in meaning to what you meant to say, namely, that the movie was good and memorable, and you didn't forget the impression it made on you for a long time.
