Participant can have a more exclusive meaning than attendee. It suggests that the person is being more than present, they are actively participating. In some contexts, they might have the same meaning. For example for a conference: 'All attendees received a complimentary gift bag' 'All participants received a complimentary gift bag'.

I have seen words such as colleague, member, party, etc. in various thesauruses, but these do not fit with the meaning I am trying to convey. I am looking at using participant as “someone who participated in an experiment”. Probably avoid guinea pigs.

23 mars 2015 · You could pronounce it as. participants. participants's (i.e. "participantses") Occasionally, I prefer to pronounce participants' like I would participants's, which is "participantses". That occasional preference of mine is for clarity, but sounds awkward. Awkward because. users' sounds horrible as "userses".

26 mars 2011 · Someone who participates of anything is a participant. Someone who is using an application is a user. Someone being investigated is a suspect. Someone being surveyed can also be a respondent. But in the instance, I would just say: The survey person conducted the participant through an application's function tour.
