  1. 21 janv. 2024 · I’ve got a list as long as my arm of coffee shops and tourist attractions to visit in Paris, but if you could recommend just ONE thing to do/see while in Paris, what would it be? Looking for the absolute TOP recommendations, however niche or boring or popular/unpopular they might seem, for a very chill couple in their 30s who aren’t chasing the Instagram dream holiday)

  4. 9 août 2016 · I will be visiting Paris for the first (and perhaps last) time over 4 days in early September, and during my stay I'd love to try: Food / style of dining that is representative of Parisian culture. 6. I don't think you'll find many brands that are much cheaper in Paris (to the extent where it's worth buying them in France rather than the UK). The pound is quite strong compared to the euro right now though so you should be able to make some good deals (especially with the VAT refund).

  7. 23 août 2022 · When I run out, I know it’s time to return to Paris. :) If you’re planning on doing a lot of shopping and spending, Google and familiarize yourself with “détaxe”. Non-EU residents can get some of the VAT (Value Added Tax) back before leaving the country but you have to do some paperwork. The VAT is like 20% in France on commercial ...

  8. 18 août 2023 · You’re so right, it’s the old hipster thing with indy bands “you probably haven’t heard of them”… I go to some small town in France and avoid Paris “you probably haven’t heard of the town”. I personally really enjoy being a tourist when I’m actually you know touring a city as a tourist, call me crazy.

  9. When I went to Paris in 2008, it was really hard to find anyone who spoke English and had to get by with my mediocre French. Same thing happened to me in 2011. I came back in 2019 and I was amazed at how many people answered in English when they saw I was a tourist even though I tried my best to ask for everything in French (I must be at a B2 level).

  10. Paris is much safer than most urban cities in the U.S., yes, I've never feared for my life in this city. However the one thing I will say is much worse in Paris is the catcalling and local men being more forward/aggressive. I've had men follow me in broad daylight to where I was staying, had a few walk up to me and ask for sex at Champs ...
