Welcome to Eton College, a boarding school for boys aged between 13 and 18. Book an Admissions tour. Everyone at Eton works hard to create an exciting, stimulating and caring environment, to enable each boy to reach his full potential. All our boys are also expected to make their own contribution to school life.
School Fees & Extras. The school fee includes tuition, board, lodging, and the cost of most games activities and the majority of educational materials. In addition, boys incur variable extras, e.g. charges for music lessons, optional insurances, boat club membership and school trips.
Eton College was founded in 1440 by Henry VI as “Kynge’s College of Our Ladye of Eton besyde Windesore”.
Eton College is a charity for the advancement of education. At its heart sits an independent boys’ boarding school which leads a dynamic range of educational activities and an expanding network of educational partnerships.
Our broad curriculum promotes academic excellence, the best habits of independent thought and a lifelong habit of intellectual curiosity and love of learning. Examination results matter. We understand this, and encourage all our boys to aspire to academic excellence.
The life of the boarding House is at the heart of every boy’s Eton experience. Book an Admissions tour. Boys are thrown together in groups of 10 or 11 as 13-year-olds, and they grow up together over the next five intense and action-packed years. Friendships built up during this period will last for the whole of a person’s life.
Eton’s size and scope enables boys to find kindred spirits among their peers, and with adult encouragement and guidance in the development of their interests and talents, many put together a richly contrasting portfolio of individual achievement.
Our Graduate Teacher Programme provides the opportunity for six graduates, every year, to begin their professional journey in teaching by immersing themselves in a full-boarding environment for two years.
Financial Aid. Thanks to generations of benefactors and supporters we are fortunate to have a well-established endowment, which allowed us to budget £9.7 million for scholarships and bursaries in the 2023/24 financial year.
