ABC had completely changed its schedule for the 1979-80 season, and its hit shows all went into freefall. Mork & Mindy (which had tied for #3 the previous year with Happy Days) fell to #27. Happy Days fell to #17, Laverne & Shirley (#1 in '77-78) fell out of the top 40! So really, ABC is what killed Angie.

R3, fun fact: the first Parkinson's comedy but when it didn't test well they kept the gags and dropped the references. Poor Sharon Spelman doesn’t even garner a three quarter shot in the opening credits.
