Rêverie = has a positive, poetic meaning. Nice state of a relaxed person. Rêvasserie = waste of time because of too much dreaming. You spend your time to rêvasser instead of doing your homework.

Musing can also mean thinking, meditating, or concentrating, except that you can also muse out loud: "'I wonder what happened,' he mused." Fantasizing is more closely related to the literal meaning of daydreaming. Woolgathering is the same as daydreaming.

16 juil. 2008 · France. French-France. Jul 16, 2008. #3. La seule expression qui me vient à l'esprit utilisant aimer à + infinitif est "aimer à mourir" (je l'aime à mourir). Dans ce cas tu n'aimes pas mourir, tu exprimes une quantité (je l'aime tellement que je pourrais en mourir)...Idem pour aimer à en crever (très familier!!!)

Which means that only 3-syllabic (and longer) words can have it. 'Referee' is one of them should the speaker pronounce the middle syllable with schwa.
