Ki Hajar Dewantara (2 mai 1889, Yogyakarta - 28 avril 1959, Yogyakarta), né Raden Mas Soewardi Soerjaningrat a été l'un des pionniers dans le domaine de l'éducation en Indonésie. C'est lui qui fonda notamment le mouvement éducatif Taman Siswa en 1922.
Ki Hadjar Dewantara adalah bangsawan Jawa, aktivis pergerakan kemerdekaan Indonesia, guru bangsa, kolumnis, politisi, dan pelopor pendidikan bagi kaum pribumi Indonesia. Dia dianugerah sebagai Bapak Pendidikan Nasional oleh Presiden Soekarno dan dikukuhkan sebagai pahlawan nasional oleh Presiden RI.
Ki Hajar Dewantara was a leading Indonesian independence activist, writer, and educator in colonial times. He founded the Taman Siswa school, criticized the Dutch colonial government, and was exiled to the Netherlands with Douwes Dekker and Tjipto Mangoenkoesoemo.
