Gong are a psychedelic rock band that incorporates elements of jazz and space rock into their musical style. The group was formed in Paris in 1967 by Australian musician Daevid Allen and English vocalist Gilli Smyth.
21 févr. 2010 · Officiellement le premier album de Gong sort en 1971 et s’appelle « Camembert électrique » où, avec Daevid Allen, on retrouve Gilli Smyth, Didier Malherbe et la paire rythmique Christian Trish à la basse et Pip Pyle à la batterie.
Gong, 20e version environ en cette année 2023, 56 ans après les débuts et sans aucun membre d’origine propose Unending Ascending qui reprend les codes du groupe mais cherche à s’en détacher avec un son plus rock qui donne une teinte assez sympa à l’ensemble.
Formé en 1967 par l'ex-Soft Machine Daevid Allen, le groupe franco-anglais Gong rassemble une communauté de musiciens ayant marqué les années 1970 par une musique planante et délirante et des concerts en forme de happenings. Les albums Camembert Electrique (1971) et Flying Teapot (1973) sont des classiques.
