The hierarchy of the Catholic Church consists of its bishops, priests, and deacons. In the ecclesiological sense of the term, "hierarchy" strictly means the "holy ordering" of the church, the Body of Christ, so to respect the diversity of gifts and ministries necessary for genuine unity.

L'organisation de la hiérarchie des titres ecclésiastiques de l' Église catholique est décrite dans deux textes du XXe siècle : le Code de droit canonique de 1983 et le Code des canons des Églises orientales de 1991. D'après ces textes, la hiérarchie se compose des évêques, des prêtres et des diacres Caté 1, Note 1.
