Since this romance was written around 1200, I wanted to give Yvain a late 12th century knight's attire and chose colours which remind me of manuscripts of that time. 22 juil. 2023 · On the one hand, there are numerous, obvious plot correspondences between the French and Welsh texts, particularly between Owain-Yvain and Gereint-Erec (Peredur is... pretty weird.) In contrast to earlier Welsh Arthurian tales, like Culhwch and Olwen , the Rhamantau clearly belong to a "high medieval," chivalric world, reflected in the material and social culture of the tales.
