Chevrolet Aveo 5-Speed Clutch Problems. blk07aveo Member Posts: 4. November 2006 edited July 2014. I just bought a '07 aveo sedan w/5-speed, just wondering if anybody has had any trouble with the transmition or clutch. If so whats the problem and how many miles? thanks.
And the rpm would rev up to about 4 or 5. I am posting this because I had seen similar issues posted on this website. I took to the dealers two days ago. They called me back yesterday and said that my transmission fluid was "bone dry". They later called me because the front two seals in my transmission were leaking.

I was just pulling into my parking lot and shut it down. Found no oil on the dipstick. Had it towed to the dealer, appears front crankshaft seal failed.
It is also recommended to change it every 15k miles according to the manual. Replacing the air filter and the spark plugs and wires (which should be done every 30k miles) should increase your MPG about 10% to 20%. It is on most cars. I'm probably the last guy on earth to want to be an apologist for GM. But if you didn't change your timing belt when you should have, your efforts at invoking a lawsuit are futile. My 2004 Aveo, other than the timing belt snazoo by the particular dealership, never gave me any problems.
