When you enter you debit/credit click to save the payment method and that way it will be saved to the Playstation direct website.
27 avr. 2022 · Receiving this message for the ps5 vr2 headset recently, too. It doesn't seem like I can buy anything from the direct store at all. This adds to the frustration since playstation direct is the only storefront offering pre-orders at all for vr2. Buying from another retailer is not even possible.

That didn't work for me (unfortunately), but going through the Playstation Store on the PS4 to make the purchase did! Just wanted to mention for others to also try this out. TL;DR: The mobile/desktop app may fail, but trying to purchase via the PS4 may not.
Sony is a pretty unknown company sounds like a big risk. Yes ps direct is legit. They are the direct offical playstion online store. My dualsense charging dock came from them. If you can get to a ps5 order it. Playstation direct is real but Sony Playstation direct is fake selling ps5.
