Jamie Kime’s first solo record, Alleys, displays a mix of lush guitar tones, poignant soundscapes, and evocative panoramas. We recently sat with him to discuss it, and his recent gig touring with Zappa Plays Zappa project, featuring Franks Zappa’s son, Dweezil.
About this Artist. As a member of Zappa Plays Zappa (led by Frank Zappaʼs son Dweezil) from it's inception in 2006 until 2012, guitarist JAMIE KIME has played every prestigious venue from Londonʼs Royal Albert Hall to L.A.ʼs Greek Theater.
Just as Frank Zappa's bands changed size year after year, Zappa Plays Zappa once again followed suit, reducing its membership to six rather than eight musicians. Original core band members Jamie Kime and Billy Hulting went on to other projects at that time. The 2014 Zappa Plays Zappa tour was a tribute to the classic 1974 album Roxy and Elsewhere.
