David Warren Ellefson (born November 12, 1964) is an American musician, best known for his long tenure as the bassist and backing vocalist for thrash metal band Megadeth across two stints.

But for the better part of 40 years (with a break between 2002 and 2010), bassist David Ellefson stood tall and proud by Mustaine's side. But allegiances be damned, Ellefson found himself on the outs with Mustaine again, leading to his firing from the band in May of 2021.
