  3. TMT. What was good about the econotig was, it was one of the first small non inverter ac/dc tig machines. It's duty-cycle and output really make it a work out when using it on ac. You will be snapping it off all the time unless you are welding pretty thin stuff. Get a 180 or 185 machine for the duty-cycle alone.

  8. 20 déc. 2010 · If you tried 3/32 pure, it would melt away at 140 Amps or so. Again, for 1/4" aluminum.... water cooled torch is pretty much a must. I think they do make some big air-cooled, but just go with water cooled. Use a Number 8 cup and set the gas flow around 20cfh maybe 25cfh (at least with a gas lens).

My 13 year old son has a Thunderbolt AC/DC welder that as we tried to run some beads over the weekend seemed to run extremely cold and we had a lot of difficulty maintaining an arc. We had to use an extremely short arc length. We tried 6013 & 6011 rods.

  10. 11 avr. 2024 · I have a Miller Extreme 12VS Suitcase Welder powered by a Trailblazer 302. For years I have had no problem with my setup. Suddenly I'm having wire speed issues. When I start everything up I have no problem setting my voltage. But when I go to set my wire speed at the suitcase it just shows about 85 ipm even when I turn the dial.
