25 août 2012 · Distribution images of Arctic sea ice concentration and sea ice area information are updated everyday and provided to the public on the Arctic Sea-Ice Monitor website using the IARC-JAXA information system (IJIS) set up at the International Arctic Research Center (IARC), University of Alaska, by JAXA.

Why are there differences between sea ice cover opened on the website of International Arctic Research Center (IARC), University of Alaska Fairbanks - JAXA Information System (IJIS) and data published on JASMES? Data of IJIS show two-day average, on the other hand, data of JASMES show five-day average. Please refer to the following URL for details.
9 mai 2016 · IJIS: Has been growing for the last 2 days: 12,388,281 km2 (May 12, 2013) It's not unusual for extent to bounce up and down a bit at this time of year, of course, but, still, while the average extent drop for mid-May is about 50k km2 per day, it's notable that it's dropped just 25k over the past four days combined.
