Charles Spencer Chaplin, dit Charlie Chaplin [ˈt͡ʃɑːli ˈt͡ʃ æ pl ɪ n] n 1, est un acteur, réalisateur, scénariste, producteur et compositeur britannique, né le 16 avril 1889, probablement à Londres ( Royaume-Uni ), et mort le 25 décembre 1977 à Corsier-sur-Vevey ( Suisse ).
Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin KBE (16 April 1889 – 25 December 1977) was an English comic actor, filmmaker, and composer who rose to fame in the era of silent film. He became a worldwide icon through his screen persona, the Tramp, and is considered one of the film industry's most important figures.
Biographie. Charles Spencer Chaplin est né à Londres le 16 avril 1889. Ses parents, Charles et Hannah, tous deux artistes de music-hall, se séparent avant ses trois ans. Mme Chaplin se bat pour élever Charles et son demi-frère aîné Sydney, enfant illégitime, malgré sa santé défaillante (elle a fini par être internée en hôpital psychiatrique).
