Rachuonyo était, entre 1995 et 2009, un des districts de la province de Nyanza au Kenya. Depuis cette date, il est divisé en deux nouveaux districts : Karachuonyo et Kasipul-Kabondo. Depuis 2010, uni avec les anciens districts de Homa Bay et de Suba, il constitue un des 47 comtés du Kenya créés par la nouvelle constitution .

The district had a population of 307,126 (1999 census) and an area of 945 km². [1] The district had two constituencies, Kasipul Kabondo and Karachuonyo, which have been part of Homa Bay County since 2010.

Today's counties of Kenya are based on the merging of some of the districts on this list and since the divisions are one level under the districts they are now the sub-counties.
