Simon and Garfunkel met in elementary school in Queens, New York, in 1953, where they learned to harmonize and began writing songs. As teenagers, under the name Tom & Jerry, they had minor success with "Hey Schoolgirl" (1957), a song imitating their idols, the Everly Brothers.
Simon et Garfunkel étaient un duo de folk-rock américain composé du chanteur-auteur-compositeur Paul Simon et du chanteur Art Garfunkel. Ils sont nés le 13 octobre 1941 (Simon) et le 5 novembre 1941 (Garfunkel) à Newark, New Jersey. Le duo a commencé à jouer ensemble dans un groupe appelé Tom and Jerry en 1957 alors qu'ils étaient encore au lycée.
