John Watts Young (September 24, 1930 – January 5, 2018) was an American astronaut, naval officer and aviator, test pilot, and aeronautical engineer. He became the 9th person to walk on the Moon as commander of the Apollo 16 mission in 1972.

6 janv. 2018 · John Watts Young, né le 24 septembre 1930, fut sélectionné dans le deuxième groupe des astronautes de la NASA en 1962, après un diplôme d’ingénieur, après avoir piloté des avions de combat et été pilote d’essai. Il fut le premier à réaliser 6 vols spatiaux : 2 missions Gemini, 2 missions Apollo et 2 missions de la Navette Spatiale (Shuttle).
