The Limerick Institute of Technology ( LIT; Irish: Institiúid Teicneolaíochta Luimnigh) was an institute of technology, located in Limerick, Ireland. The institute had five campuses that were located in Limerick, Thurles, Clonmel, as well as a regional learning centre in Ennis.
Institut de technologie de Limerick. Le Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) trouve ses racines dans l'école d'art ornemental de la rue Leamy, à Limerick, le 3 juillet 1852. Celui-ci a rouvert ses portes en 1855 sur Cecil Street sous les auspices du Limerick Athenaeum, fondé par William Lane Joynt.
L'université de Limerick (en irlandais : Ollscoil Luimnigh ; en anglais : University of Limerick ou UL) a été créée en 1972 sous le nom d'Institut national pour l'éducation supérieure. Celui-ci a été élevé au statut d'université en 1989.

Transformé en Limerick College of Art, Commerce and Technology (Limerick CoACT) pour inclure la nouvelle Limerick School of Art and Design, la School of Professional Studies, située sur O'Connell Avenue en 1980.
