À la fin du vingt-troisième épisode de la première série animée de Clannad, un trailer de cinquante secondes a été diffusé pour annoncer la sortie d'une autre série : Clannad After Story. Réalisée également par Kyoto Animation, la seconde série reprend l'arc After Story du jeu en vingt-quatre épisodes.
Clannad: After Story est la deuxième saison de l'anime Clannad, basé sur un roman visuel japonais. L'histoire de Clannad: After Story est centrée sur Tomoya Okazaki, un jeune homme qui fait face à de nombreux défis dans sa vie, notamment la perte d'êtres chers et la difficulté à établir des relations avec les autres.

Clannad ~After Story~ (クラナドアフターストーリー, Kuranado Afutā Sutōrī?, "CLANNAD 〜AFTER STORY〜") is the second season of the Clannad series, and adapts the After Story arc of the Clannad visual novel.
Summer break is now over; the second semester has started for Tomoya, Nagisa and the others, and little has changed. Since Tomoya's relationship with his father is still troubled, he continues to live with Nagisa and her family, even if it means getting roped into organizing a baseball team for the family bakery.
1 juil. 2009 · On a rainy day, Ryou Fujibayashi musters up the courage to confess her feelings to Tomoya Okazaki. Despite not knowing each other for long, the two start dating and develop a harmonious relationship. However, tensions begin to rise when a rumor surrounding Tomoya and Ryou's older sister Kyou spreads around school.
CLANNAD: After Story. A few months have passed since Tomoya declared his love to Nagisa, and his life keeps moving forward as he continues to meet a variety of new people, expanding his world in the process.
