Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace ( née Byron; 10 December 1815 – 27 November 1852), also known as Ada Lovelace, was an English mathematician and writer chiefly known for her work on Charles Babbage 's proposed mechanical general-purpose computer, the Analytical Engine.
Bien avant l'invention du premier ordinateur, Ada Lovelace avait eu l'idée d'un langage informatique. Elle mourut le 10 novembre 1852, plus de cent ans avant que ses notes ne soient redécouvertes. Mais pour ses travaux visionnaires, elle est souvent considérée comme la première programmeuse informatique.

Lovelace realized that the Analytical Engine could carry out an extensive sequence of mathematical operations. The example she wrote of one such sequence—how to calculate Bernoulli numbers—is regarded by computer historians as the first computer program.
