Herbert Jansch, connu sous le nom de Bert Jansch, né le 3 novembre 1943 à Glasgow et mort le 5 octobre 2011 1, est un musicien écossais de musique folk. Après sa rencontre avec John Renbourn en 1964, il forme le groupe Pentangle trois ans plus tard avec lequel il produit 12 albums studio.
Herbert Jansch (3 November 1943 – 5 October 2011) [1] was a Scottish folk musician and founding member of the band Pentangle. He was born in Glasgow and came to prominence in London in the 1960s as an acoustic guitarist and singer-songwriter. He recorded more than 28 albums and toured extensively from the 1960s to the 21st century.

Compositeur de la majorité du répertoire de Pentangle, Bert Jansch poursuit parallèlement sa carrière solo par le remarquable Jack Orion (1969). L'album Basket of Light, classé n°5 des charts anglais en 1969, est le plus grand succès du groupe qui se sépare en 1973, avant de renaître au cours des deux décennies suivantes.
