Eagle in a Cage is an Anglo-American historical drama film, released in 1971. The film was based on the teleplay of the same name by Millard Lampell, which aired on the Hallmark Television Playhouse on 20 October 1965.
The movie tells the story of Napoleon during his exile by Great Britain to the island of Saint Helena. After his efforts to escape are unsuccessful, Napoleon (played by Trevor Howard) writes his memoir and befriends a local girl Betsy Balcombe (played by Pamela Franklin ).
Le film es un remake de Eagle in a Cage, téléfilm Hallmark Hall of Fame de George Schaefer, diffusé en 1965 où Trevor Howard interprétait Napoléon. Cette dramatique télévisée est écrite par Millard Lampell (en) qui fut tardivement produite, l'auteur étant inscrit sur la liste noire de Hollywood en 1952.
