Michael Ballhaus, A.S.C. (5 August 1935 – 12 April 2017) was a German cinematographer. He is known for his work with directors including Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Martin Scorsese, Mike Nichols, James L. Brooks, and Wolfgang Petersen.
Michael Ballhaus war ein deutscher Kameramann, der mit Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Martin Scorsese und anderen Regisseuren zahlreiche Filme fotografierte. Er galt als einer der bedeutendsten Kameraleute des deutschen und internationalen Films und erhielt mehrere Auszeichnungen.
Michael Ballhaus (1935-2017) was a renowned cinematographer who worked on many American films, such as Goodfellas, The Departed, and Gangs of New York. He was also a director, actor, and the uncle of Carl Balhaus, who appeared in M (1931).
