Edna Purviance. Olga[citation needed] Edna Purviance ( / pɜːrˈvaɪ.ns /; [1] October 21, 1895 – January 13, 1958) was an American actress of the silent film era. She was the leading lady in many of Charlie Chaplin 's early films and in a span of eight years, she appeared in over 30 films with him.
Edna Purviance was a silent film actress who starred in over 20 Chaplin films from 1915 to 1921. She retired in 1926 but remained on Chaplin's payroll until her death in 1958.

Edna Purviance was an American movie actress of the silent film era, who played opposite Charlie Chaplin in more than 30 films, including such classic short works as The Tramp (1915), Easy Street (1917), and The Immigrant (1917). She also starred with Chaplin in the feature-length film The Kid.
