This album shows the influence of the Butthole Surfers, Hawkwind and the MC5. The next album Field Recordings from the Sun for Ba Da Bing label showed more growth on the record with new drummer Utrillo Kushner, as well as saxophones being added to their noise rock jams.
Comets On Fire est un groupe de rock indépendant américain, originaire de Santa Cruz, en Californie. Il est formé en 1999 par le chanteur et guitariste Ethan Miller et son ami de longue date le bassiste Ben Flashman.
Comets On Fire fait ses débuts en 1999 grâce à Ethan Miller (chant) et Ben Flashman (basse) vite rejoints par Utrillo Kushner (batterie) et Noel von Harmonson. L'objectif du groupe est de jouer une musique principalement axé sur le rythme et cela sans barrière stylistisque.
Ben Flashman, as always, plays solid bass as does Utrillo Kushner on drums. However it is Noel von Harmonson and his echoplex that gives this band a unique edge. He creates powerful, noisy sonic walls that keeps the high energy flowing from start to finish.
Utrillo Kushner is the marketing manager for Revolver Distribution. In his spare time in plays apeman drums in Comets on Fire along with taking on singing duties for Colossal Yes.
