14 août 2020 · Italian swimmer Gregorio Paltrinieri broke his own national and European record in the 1500 free with a time of 14:33.10 at the 2020 Sette Colli Trophy in Rome. He also won the 800 free and the gold medal in the event at the 2016 Olympics.

Gregorio Paltrinieri is one of the world's most versatile swimmers, competing both in the pool and open water (marathon) events. The Italian first made swimming headlines in 2011, when he became European champion in the men's 1500m freestyle at the age of 16.
