ALRA is a drama school based in London and Wigan, our training includes PG acting, foundation in acting, MA acting courses and BA in acting (Hons) degree.
The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) was a British drama school. It had two sites: ALRA South on Wandsworth Common in south London and ALRA North in Wigan, Greater Manchester. It was founded in 1979 by director and actor Sorrel Carson who then directed the school as its principal until 2001.
It was here, in the early eighties that Mark built ALRA’s first, state-of-the-art film and recording studio. From 1979 until 2022, ALRA supported the education and ambition of thousands of talented drama students.
ALRA aims to equip actors and theatre technicians with those skills fundamental to a productive and creative life in the performance industries. ALRA is dedicated to helping students of all backgrounds and ages to enter the world of live and recorded arts.
ALRA (The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts) was founded in 1979, by Sorrel Carson and Caryll Ziegler. It was the first drama school to offer a training which encompassed all media: Live Theatre, TV & Film and Radio.
