  4. Sadly, group member Frank Reed, who, along with Anthony Watson, took over lead vocal duties after the retirement of Eugene Record, has died. Reed was a talented singer who joined the group at a difficult time and served admirably through years on the road. He will be missed.

  7. Sometime Chi-Lites’ vocalist, FRANK REED died in Chicago on 26th February. He was aged 59. Reed joined the Chi-Lites in 1988 after leader Eugene Record went off to pursue his solo ambitions. Prior to joining the legendary harmony team, Frank had been in a group called Michigan Avenue.
