Clem Burke est né le 24 novembre 1954 à Bayonne dans le New Jersey. Il commence sa carrière de batteur avec le groupe Blondie. À la séparation du groupe en 1984, il rejoint les Ramones et prend le pseudonyme de Elvis Ramone, et apparaît aussi avec le groupe Eurythmics.
