Harry Wayne Casey (born January 31, 1951), better known by his stage name KC, is an American record producer, musician, and songwriter. He is best known for his band, KC and the Sunshine Band, as a producer of several hits for other artists, and as a pioneer of the disco genre of the 1970s.

2 mars 2024 · Harry Wayne Casey, commonly known as KC, rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the disco-funk band KC and the Sunshine Band. With hits like “That’s the Way (I Like It)” and “Get Down Tonight,” Harry became a household name in the 1970s music scene.
Formed by Harry Wayne Casey in the early 70s in Florida, with KC And The Sunshine Band the songwriter, musician and vocalist set out to create an up-tempo sound that was the antithesis of the darker musical trends he observed edging into music during the time.
The band took its name from lead vocalist Harry Wayne Casey's last name ('KC') and the 'Sunshine Band' from KC's home state of Florida, the Sunshine State. The group had five number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the 1970s.
