Histoire. Kraan est formé en 1970 à Ulm. Auparavant, les frères Peter Wolbrandt (né le 29 octobre 1949 à Krefeld) et Jan Fride (né le 8 mars 1952 à Düsseldorf) avaient joué dans divers groupes de jazz et réussissent à convaincre Hellmut Hattler (né le 12 avril 1952 à Ulm) de fonder avec eux le groupe Inzest en 1968.

Kraan is a German band based in Ulm and formed in 1970. It had several minor hits through the 1970s and 1980s. After a break of ten years, the group reunited in 2000. Their early style can be described as Krautrock that turned later to fusion, combining elements of both rock and jazz .
