Kool & the Gang is an American R&B, soul, and funk group formed in Jersey City, New Jersey in 1964. Its founding members include brothers Robert "Kool" Bell and Ronald Bell, Dennis "Dee Tee" Thomas, Robert "Spike" Mickens, Charles Smith, George Brown, Sir Earl Toon, Woodrow "Woody" Sparrow, and Ricky Westfield.

In 1964, Ronald Bell and his brother, Robert “Kool” Bell, joined Jersey City neighborhood friends Robert “Spike” Mickens, Dennis “Dee Tee” Thomas, Ricky Westfield, George Brown, and Charles Smith to create a unique musical blend of jazz, soul and funk.
10 sept. 2020 · Les frères Bell ont ensuite formé les Jazziacs avec leurs amis de lycée Spike Mickens, Dennis Thomas, Ricky Westfield, George Brown et Charles Smith, pour finalement se transformer en Kool & the Flames, the Jazz Birds et, enfin, Kool & the Gang.
