L'université de Heidelberg (en allemand Universität Heidelberg, anciennement Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg ou Ruperto Carola du nom de ses deux fondateurs), située à Heidelberg, en Bade-Wurtemberg, est la plus ancienne université allemande.
Founded in 1386 on instruction of Pope Urban VI, Heidelberg is Germany's oldest university and one of the world's oldest surviving universities; it was the third university established in the Holy Roman Empire after Vienna and Prague. Since 1899, it has been a coeducational institution.
L'université de Heidelberg, située à Heidelberg, en Bade-Wurtemberg, est la plus ancienne université allemande. Elle est membre du groupe de Coïmbre et sa stratégie « Heidelberg: Realising the Potential of a Comprehensive University » a été retenue en 2007 par le programme d'initiative d'excellence allemande.
Outstanding research & teaching. A long history of excellence. Heidelberg University is the oldest university in Germany. Since its founding 1386 it has attracted many top scientists from Germany and abroad, including Robert Bunsen, Hermann Helmholtz, Gustav Kirchhoff and Max Weber.
