John Grimaldi (born November 5, 1952) , better known by his stage name Studebaker John is an American blues guitarist and harmonica player. [1] He is a practitioner of the Chicago blues style, with his stage name arising from an automobile he once owned.
Studebaker John Grimaldi was born in an Italian-American section of Chicago and started playing harmonica at age 7. Under the spell of music he heard on Maxwell Street, Chicago’s famed blues melting pot, Grimaldi began performing as Studebaker John and the Hawks in the ‘70s.

John Grimaldi Argent were an English rock band formed in 1969 by former Zombies keyboardist Rod Argent . They had three UK Top 40 singles: " Hold Your Head Up ", which reached No. 5 and spent 12 weeks on the chart, "Tragedy" (No. 34), and " God Gave Rock and Roll to You " (No. 18).
Biography. The music of John Grimaldi (b May 1955 - d 1983), and the many and various members of his bands. John was a prolific musician and songwriter. From St.Albans boys School, where he formed Motiffe, through Flux which he formed with Dave Shackley, he was showing his skills as a Jazz/Rock musician, writing his own brand of the genre.
Indeed John Verity came on as the vocalist and (second) guitarist, while John Grimaldi took over lead guitar. This would of course change considerably Argent's sound and direction.
