The Soulquarians were a rotating collective of experimental Black music artists active during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Formed by at first, singer and multi-instrumentalist D'Angelo, drummer, composer and producer Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson. And producer, rapper and composer J Dilla.

Soulquarians est un collectif de hip-hop et neo soul américain dont les membres viennent de Philadelphie, Détroit, Richmond, Chicago, Dallas, et Oakland. Le collectif se forme vers la fin des années 1990, produisant un nombre élevé d'albums acclamés par la critique.

They also played a wealth of instruments, gravitating away from the sample-heavy sound of late 90s hip hop in favour of the intricate melodies, dynamics, and rich textures of live instrumentation.
