Building the Perfect Beast is the second solo studio album by American rock singer Don Henley, released on November 19, 1984, by Geffen Records. A commercial and critical success, it is generally regarded as the culmination of the smoother, more adult-oriented sound of Henley's solo work.
The discography of Don Henley, singer and drummer for the rock group The Eagles, consists of five studio albums, two compilation albums, and 27 solo singles. As a solo artist, Henley released his debut album, I Can't Stand Still , on August 13, 1982, via Asylum Records .
The album is Henley's best selling release, selling over 6 million copies in the United States alone, peaking at No. 8. The album featured three Top 40 singles " The End of the Innocence ", " The Heart of the Matter ", and " The Last Worthless Evening ".
