After the death of his first wife in 1906, he married for a second time Countess Anna of Trauttmansdorff-Weinsberg, daughter of Karl Johann Nepomuk Ferdinand, Prince von und zu Trauttmansdorff-Weinsberg and Josephine, Markgräfin von Pallavicini, (1873 – 1948) at Bischofteinitz on 30 November 1907. Her husband remarried a year later to Countess Anna of Trauttmansdorff-Weinsberg. In 1910 Mathilde's family anonymously published some of her poems as Traum und Leben: Gedichte einer früh Vollendeten.
