In 1970, Mayfield quit the trio to pursue a solo career; successors included Leroy Hutson, Ralph Johnson, Reggie Torian (born Reginald Torian), and Nate Evans (Twinight Records). 8 mai 2016 · Reggie Torian's cousin told me today that Reggie had passed; he was the former lead singer of the Impressions, first joining them circa 1973. When Reggie joined, they had three more top twenty R & B records, "Same Thing it Took", "Sooner or Later" and "Finally Got Myself Together".

One beautiful Sunday afternoon, he suggested we have brunch after church, I told him I had tickets to the Alvin Ailey Ballet. He said, so let’s make a day of it. I love the ballet, he told me.
Reggie Torian left in 1983, Ralph Johnson rejoined the group, and Vandy Hampton was also enlisted to the ranks. Ralph Johnson left the group again in 2001, and was replaced by Willie Kitchens, who was in turn, later replaced by Reggie Torian.
