Le roi Ferdinand II . Ferdinand II de Portugal, prince de Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha, né le 29 octobre 1816 à Vienne et mort le 15 décembre 1885 à Lisbonne, est, après son mariage, roi consort de Portugal de 1837 à 1853 et fonde la troisième maison de Bragance. Il crée le palais de Pena d'architecture éclectique ainsi que son parc ombragé.
Maria Antónia de Assis dos Santos Palla e Carmo, née Maria Antónia de Assis dos Santos et plus connue sous le nom de Maria Antónia Palla est une journaliste et féministe portugaise. Née à Seixal le 10 janvier 1933 , elle est l'une des premières femmes journalistes du Portugal.
She later married José Roberto de Melo Fernandes e Almeida in 1836 and had four sons, António Pusich de Melo, Antónia Pusich de Melo, Ana Isabel Filomena Pusich de Melo e Maria Amélia Pusich de Melo. As a poet, she marked a novelistic influence in Portugal. and dared to use her real name, not a pseudonym which was custom at the time.
