It's scheduled to be finished and opened as the world cultural museum "Humboldt Forum" in late 2019. Interiors can and will be reconstructed later on, year by year.

31 mars 2013 · Complimenting the existing Estrel Hotel, the largest in Germany, a new hotel tower and conference center will establish a new gateway to the center of Berlin from the soon to be completed Schönefeld International Airport. The overall planning should be completed and the building application is now beeing prepared and should be granted within this year. Covivio is planning to start the construction later this year and to finish in 2023.

Same procedure as every year: it seems the new S-Bahn line S15, destined to operate as a 3-station stub between Gesundbrunnen and a temporary stop just north of Hauptbahnhof, will once again miss its inauguration date, scheduled last for December 14, 2024.
