La Rhénanie-Palatinat (en allemand : Rheinland-Pfalz, /ˈʁa ɪ̯ nlant ˈ p͡f alt͡s/ Écouter) est l'un des seize États fédérés composant l' Allemagne . Elle a été créée le 30 août 1946 à partir de la partie nord de la zone française d'occupation et légalement confirmée par un référendum sur le projet de constitution le 18 mai 1947.
