David Anthony Rice, dit Tony Rice, né le 8 juin 1951 à Danville en Virginie et mort le 25 décembre 2020 à Reidsville, est un guitariste américain de musique bluegrass. Tony Rice est considéré comme l'un des plus importants guitaristes de ce genre musical : il intègre ainsi en 2013 l'International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame [1].
Beginning in 1984, Rice collaborated on four albums by Béla Fleck – Double Time (1984), Drive (1988), Tales from the Acoustic Planet (1995), and The Bluegrass Sessions: Tales from the Acoustic Planet, Vol. 2 (1999). He joined David Grisman and Jerry Garcia in 1993 to record The Pizza Tapes.
