  1. And then UT1 is defined as the mean solar time at 0° longitude. However, it is not realized by measurements of the sun's apparent position, but via a sidereal time or earth rotation angle. Extensive googling hasn't helped me to understand how this observed earth rotation angle is used to compute UT1.

  2. 4 oct. 2020 · We have all heard about the benefits of UT2 rowing, such as increased capillarisation, more efficient energy usage, increased aerobic ability, etc., but UT1 is a bit alien it seems. For my rowing plan, I have a 1:1 ratio of UT2 time to UT1 (2x UT2 @ 2x 45 minutes, 3x UT1 @ 2x 30 minutes and 1x AT per week), which I know is less to other people ...

  3. 1 août 2018 · I'm studying for my CGSB UT1 exam for a few weeks from now, what are some good resources, I've heard the Ginzel Brother's questions are good(I've got…

  4. 20 mars 2019 · As the earth slows down, so does UT1. Over long periods of time, if UTC were not corrected, it would drift with respect to the mean sun. Given long enough, noon UTC could differ from noon UT1 (when the sun would actually be high in the sky) by hours. You could pick any time period to correct UTC, but it was chosen to keep it within a second of UT1.

  6. 8 mars 2021 · Steady state - UT1 vs UT2. First a bit of background: About 5 years ago I rowed as a Lightweight (M,71kg, 187cm), after not rowing for about 3-4years now I decided to buy a C2 erg. For the past 2 weeks I have been rowing UT2 steady state sessions 2x25mins R5min on a average heart rate of 140. But to be honest I don't really see any improvement ...

  7. 18 août 2021 · If early in your prep I would just keep things simple and stick with UT2. The UT1 training I've done has been implemented as part of longer UT2 sessions rather than being standalone. E.g. 3x30 mins with the first 20 of each interval being UT2 and the last 10 being UT1 - so you could maybe try that with your 2x30s instead.

  8. 10 juil. 2023 · Maximal RPE. In rowing, the zones are most often broken up into two or more training targets, with a VERY rough correspondence to cycling's Z1-Z5 paradigm. They are as follows: Zone 1 -> Recovery (Z1) and UT2 (Z2) Zone 2 -> UT1 (Z3) and AT (Z4) Zone 3 -> This one's not so cut and dried. The US divides it into TR transportation and AN anaerobic.

  9. 26 juin 2024 · Hello, I'm going for my 2nd attempt at my UT1 in a few weeks. I've tried reaching out to NRCan with no response as of yet. I just have a question… I've tried reaching out to NRCan with no response as of yet.

  10. 15 août 2018 · Depends on your definition of UT1. If your UT1 is borderline UT2 intensity, you will be able to completely recover. For me, my UT1 is more similar to AT and is pretty much as much as I can do for an hour, divided up, which is 2k+15-20, and I can't recover. Remember, rest is just as important to training as workouts.
