I think you are referring to the Windows Vista version of Windows Movie Maker 2.6 that is basically a CPU-only version using the XP code for those on Vista that didn't have a powerful enough GPU. The version after that is Windows Movie Maker 6.0 which had both a 64-bit version and GPU rendering of effects ...
9 févr. 2023 · Windows Live Essentials have been discontinued since quite some years ago. It is never tested on recent Windows builds (including Windows 11) so there's no guarantee of anything at this point even if you manage to get it installed. I will suggest that you consider alternatives, such as Windows Mail app, Windows Photos app, etc.
In December, Microsoft annouced it was ending support for its suite of lifestyle apps, Windows Essentials. The last version launched in 2012 with the release of Windows 8. Since then, the software has been in maintenance mode. Even though the software firm promised to remove the software by January 10, 2017, its still available for download. I just checked and the following link still works:

Réponse apportée le 19 février 2017. Signaler un abus. Bonjour, Windows Live Essentials n'est plus supporté par Microsoft depuis le 10 janvier 2017. Tu ne peux donc plus télécharger Windows Live Movie Maker. Remplace le par une application similaire que tu trouveras sur Internet ou dans le Windows Store si tu es sous W8.1 ou W10.
S'il s'agit de Windows Movie Maker et non pas de Windows Live Movie Maker, veuillez vous rendre sur le forum de XP pour obtenir la procédure. S'il s'agit de Windows Live Movie Maker, vous devez désinstaller les programmes Windows Live et les réinstaller en Français: 1. Désinstaller complètement la suite Windows Live/Essentials.
