Pour rappel, NTFS est le système de fichiers par défaut de Windows. La MFT stocke les informations comme les indexations de fichiers, métadonnées, ACL et bien d’autres informations.

14 sept. 2022 · $Mft is the NTFS "Master File Table" – it's the file which holds all information about what files you have and where they are physically. You seem to have about 8 million files, so assuming a ~1 kB metadata entry per file, an 8 GB $Mft is entirely reasonable.

6 mars 2017 · You can use the fsutil utility that comes with Windows. fsutil fsinfo ntfsinfo c: In the output, look for the Mft Valid Data Length line. The value is hexadecimal; you can convert it to decimal using the Windows calculator or by simply running it (starting with 0x) in PowerShell as a command.

Pour se faire, il faut utiliser la commande suivante en remplaçant X par la valeur souhaitée. fsutil behavior set mftzone <valeur>. La valeurs possibles pour régler la taille de la MFT sont les suivantes : 1 – 12.5% (par défaut) 2 – 25%. 3 – 37.5%. 4 – 50%.
