Michael Lee McDaniel (born March 6, 1983) is an American football coach who is the head coach for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). A former long-time assistant and descendant of the Shanahan coaching tree, McDaniel began his NFL coaching career as an intern for the Denver Broncos in 2005.
The 2023 season marked McDaniel's 17th in the NFL and second as a head coach. McDaniel has led Miami to the postseason in each of his two seasons (2022-23) as head coach, becoming just the third coach in Dolphins history to do so in his first two seasons, joining Don Shula (1970-71) and Dave Wannstedt (2000-01).
