Nelly Sachs est une poétesse suédoise, juive, de langue allemande, née en 1891 à Berlin et morte en 1970 à Stockholm. Elle a écrit des poèmes inspirés par la Shoah, la nuit, le souvenir et l'exil, et a reçu le prix Nobel de littérature en 1966.
